As a warrior of Demacia, Garen unreservedly guards the country's borders and ideals.

Garen and his sister Lux both come from the ancient and noble families of the Crownguards in Demacia. The glory of the Crown Guard family comes from the role of patronage that has been passed down through the generations. Galen's father, Peter, devoted his life to guarding King Jarvan III, so in order to inherit this honor, Galen was trained to protect the king's son, Jarvan IV, from a young age, in preparation for a new king to be crowned one day.
