Tonga eruption : 500 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima

The eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano on January 15 was estimated by NASA scientists to be equal to 10 megatons of TNT equivalent, or at least 500 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, at the end of World War II.
