SOIL TYPES AND CAPILLARY ACTION. WHY THIS MATTERS FOR GARDENERS. | Gardening in Canada πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŒΎπŸŒΏ

In this video we go over capillary action and why it’s important to gardeners. The level of capillary action you have is dependent on the soil type you have. Clay soils have a higher capillary action and there for retain more salts, more nutrients and more water. This capillary action in soil may cause more harm then good! However in a sandy soil the capillary action is lower. This lower capillary action mean soil holds less nutrients and also less water. This maybe beneficial if you’re growing something with low nutrient and low water needs.
