Carlos Castaneda Psychic Reading - Was Don Juan real?

Was Don Juan real in the carlos castaneda books? Maybe sort of...
I was a big fan and follower of Carlos Castaneda as a kid. I really believed in him. I read all of his books multiple times and got very deep into those teachings. I remember learning about the parasites of the mind in his last book which changed my life. I believe there is some real truth to these things, but some of it is just his interpretation and ideas about it.
