Storm Eunice batters UK and Ireland with record breaking gusts ITV News

Proving to be one of the worst storms in a generation, Storm Eunice has brought disruption and damage to almost all parts of the UK and Ireland.

Record gusts have been reported; key transport links suspended; while schools and businesses have been forced to close.

The Met Office had issued ultra-rare “red” weather warnings for Friday, which have now elapsed. However, Eunice’s impact is expected to continue.

*An amber weather warning means there is a good chance flying debris could cause a danger to life, as well as that roofs could be blown off buildings and power lines brought down.
Red warnings - which are very rare - were issued earlier across much of southern and eastern England and south Wales, but have now been lifted.
