The Malay bear is the only bear subfamily that does not hibernate

It is mainly distributed in Southeast Asia and South Asia, with a small distribution in Luchun, Yunnan, China, and Mangkang, Tibet. Living in tropical and subtropical forests, sexually lonely, resting in trees during the day, nocturnal activity, quick movement, good climbing. Timid, afraid of the cold but not hibernating. Omnivorous, eating leaves, fruits, honey, insects and small animals. Sexually mature at about 3 years of age, gestation period 7-8 months, 1-2 litters per litter. The average life expectancy is about 24 years. It is a national first-class protected animal in China
