I. God Commanded Gideon - Judges 6:15
A. The night time foray - Judges 6:25-27
B. Death threat - Judges 6:30
C. God’s people command to destroy the high places of pagan idolatry - Numbers 33:52
1. Instead they build the high places - 1 Kings 14:22-23
2. Righteous king Josiah defiles and destroys those high places - 2 Kings 23:8, 19

II. The Answer to Idolatry Today - 1 Peter 5:10
A. Worshiping the God of All Grace
1. He called us to be in Christ fully glorified forever
2. To accomplish that goal five things must take place
a. We must suffer a little while - 1 Peter 2:21
b. Perfect us - Romans 8:28-29 (character)
c. Establish us - Romans 1:11 (understanding)
d. Strengthen us - Ephesians 6:13 (spiritual power)
e. Settle us laying the foundation - 1 Corinthians 15:58 (stability with endurance)
B. Praise Him by worshiping Him for who He is
1. The God of all glory
a. He rightly deserves our full worship, adoration and praise
b. For He made us and then by the cross He redeemed us
2. To Him be all dominion eternally
a. All rebellion against His perfect rule, His holy Law will be put down forever
b. At the end He will rule over all - Revelation 21:22-27
