Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Zangetsu Mode (Hard) - Part 1: A New Voyage

With the Master Levels for Doom 2 completed, a new series begins! Some new content for Koji Igarashi's latest Kickstarter venture Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night dropped a couple weeks ago, including Zangetsu as a new playable character and a randomizer mode. So let's check out Zangetsu Mode first. I'm also going to knock another thing off my to-do list for this game and play on Hard mode. IMPORTANT NOTE: If after updating the game you still don't see the Zangetsu or Randomizer options in the main menu, just beat the final boss again and they should unlock.

Zangetsu is not a shardbinder like Miriam, so his playstyle is drastically different. In the first room of the Galleon Minerva, you're greeted with a list of Zangetsu's moves. That's all you get for the whole game. No new equipment, no shards, no new unlockable abilities, nothing. What you see is what you get. You can still power up by collecting HP Max Up and MP Max Up items and leveling up, though. You can use Zangetsu's abilities to go anywhere in the castle at any time, but in order to open the way to the final two areas, you have to kill every other boss (not including bonus bosses like 8-Bit Nightmare, Master Carpenter, Millionaire's Bane, or Revenant, though you can fight them right away as well). Speaking of bonus bosses, IGA and O.D. are not available to fight as Zangetsu.

In Part 1, Zangetsu sails on the Galleon Minerva to a now-deserted Arvantville and then makes his initial entry into the castle. Yeah, this series will go much faster than Miriam's playthrough did.
