(Note: if you want to see the really-elongated tomatoes, take a peek at 2:26 on this video. We planted three kinds of Roma-style tomatoes this year. I'm guessing these are the Roma III, but since we've not grown them before, I can't be sure. )
Hello from lovely Indiana--we are enjoying some mild weather before summer heat hits again mid-week. The garden is looking so good right now that it's hard to believe it has only been two weeks since the herbicide incident. We bought and distributed 4 more bales of straw today--Stan mentioned that we might need a couple more yet! Since we don't have a pickup truck, we bought the bales two at a times, wrapped each in an old sheet so the CRV stayed clean. cleanish. It is never actually clean-clean!

(note: I realized too late that I mis-pronounced "herbicide" once again. On the bright side, I never mispronounce "herb" by itself!)

The new beans are up, the old beans are blooming, and the zucchini already is forming fruit--didn't I just plant it? We are heading into July, which means the pre-lim work is over and the garden starts to be our grocery store!

I miss having strawberries this year...too bad I just don't take care of them (and so Stan rips them up...he likes things tidy)
