The Streets of Mariupol: dead Ukrainian “Azov” nationalists, ruined vehicles, bullet casings and shrapnel litter the city.

Hundreds of civilians hide in the basements of these buildings - predominantly pensioners who refuse to evacuate.

Every time another shell or rocket launched by Ukrainian troops impacts nearby, they rush out to put out fires in their apartments, or what’s left of them.

We were escorted through the city by Chechen fighters, who lead the offensive and answer for evacuations in this sector of Mariupol.
