Espiano XXII 'Cante Gran Tremolo'

This was one of my regular performances at 'The Wholemeal Cafe', Golden Bay, New Zealand from the year 2012 AD. Almost every Sunday for a decade I would play for several hours, one of the pieces I developed during these live cafe sessions is the 'Espiano' series (soon to be released as an epic album including dozens of live versions ammounting to several hours of listening in the one album). In this 'Espiano' I explore a technique normally reserved for plucked string instruments like guitar or mandolin; 'grand tremolo'.
A fellow from Spain hearing me play my unique version of flamenco piano said that I would one day play for the King of Spain ! An interesting prophecy that has not come to be but maybe will come to fruition or may have in another lifetime already ? My son Solomon Sommerfeld would come to these piano sessions often eating a big bowl of chips and doze off to my playing, you can see him at a table with his head resting on the table at the beginning of the clip. It is interesting to see the comings and goings of the cafe while I played these intensely delicate and intricate semi-improvised works.
