6,000 Russian vessels banned from entering EU ports: ESPO requested list
The European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) requested from the European Union the list of all Russian vessels banned from entering EU ports under the fifth package of sanctions against Russia, AFP news agency reports.
The organization approached governments of EU countries and competent authorities with the request to provide "sufficient personnel and resources to implement requirements of sanctions," AFP said. The ESPO requested "the clear-cut list of Russian vessels banned from entering EU ports," including vessels that changed the flag or registration after February 24, 2022.
At least 6,000 Russian vessels are covered by EU restrictions, AFP said. EU sanctions have not yet applied to vessels carrying agricultural produce, food, humanitarian aid and energy resources.
