The humanitarian corridors, organized on Tuesday in Mariupol near Azovstal for civilians, was not used by anyone, TASS reports with reference to the head of the administration of the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexei Nikonorov.

“No one came out,” he said on the air of Channel One.

Nikonorov also noted that humanitarian corridors for these purposes “have already been provided.” And those people “who could get out and wanted to get out, have already done it.”

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Natalia Nikonorova, said that the leadership of the DPR had received information about the presence of civilians at Azovstal.

Therefore, on Tuesday, another gum corridor was provided and another opportunity for people to leave the metallurgical plant.

Buses and ambulances were waiting for them in three directions near Azovstal. On all three routes, temporary accommodation centers with food and first aid were organized. The military Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the DPR were ordered to “strict” observance of the “silence regime” during the evacuation of people.

Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation, said that “the forcible detention of the civilian population as a” human shield “according to the norms of international humanitarian law” is terrorism.
