Drunk driver arrested by APD after he jumps off an overpass

On Friday, July 8, 2022, an officer from APD's High Intensity Traffic Team (HITT) stopped a suspected drunk driver on I-75 near Northside Drive.

When the officer was making the arrest, the suspect ran away from the officer and jumped off an overpass 60 feet above the ground. The suspect was apprehended a few minutes later in a wooded area below the overpass uninjured.
