Assault on the Azovstal industrial zone in Mariupol inappropriate* and ordered to be canceled
“I consider the proposed storming of the industrial zone inappropriate [ pointless*, inadvisable ]. I order to cancel,” Putin said. “Yes,” Shoigu replied.
On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, called the assault on the Azovstal industrial zone in Mariupol inappropriate, pointless, inadvisable and ordered it to be canceled. It is reported by TASS.
“I consider the proposed storming of the industrial zone inappropriate. I order to cancel,” Putin said.
Putin explained the cancellation of the assault on Azovstal by the considerations of saving the lives of the Russian military.
“Lock off this industrial zone so that the fly does not fly through,” he stressed.
Russia guarantees life and dignified treatment for the Ukrainian military who will leave Azovstal, Putin said.
