Shinzo Abe shot dead at Nara campaign event, suspect in custody

Japan's former prime minister, Shinzo Abe, has died in a hospital after being shot at an election campaign event in the city of Nara. The alleged attacker, identified as 41-year-old former Japanese navy serviceman Tetsuya Yamagami, was detained on the spot. According to a Japanese broadcaster, police have found what's believed to be explosive devices in the apartment of the alleged shooter. We heard more details from a local reporter.
