2. A family of three people was able to leave the Azovstal plant in Mariupol via a humanitarian corridor, Rossiya 24 TV channel reported Friday.

The man who was able to leave the plant worked there and knew the territory well, the TV reporter said.

"When we got our hands on radio receivers, we’ve learned about this (the possibility to leave Azovstal*** via a humanitarian corridor - TASS), and I made my spouse to finally leave. Just a common radio, Vesti FM, [they said on a radio] that we should exit with white flags and walk towards DPR or Russian forces," the man who left the plant said in an interview for the TV channel.

"There is no help from them (Ukrainian forces blocked at Azovstal - TASS). There was one soldier who helped us, he brought us cereal and noodles. Other soldiers provided us with no help, they brought three or four boxes of candies for the children and started filming videos, which they uploaded to YouTube," he added.

Over 70 civilians remain at the surrounded plant, Rossiya 24 reporter said.

Earlier, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) militia stated that a humanitarian corridor for civilians has been operational in Mariupol since March 26.
