West’s "total hybrid war", expropriation and "state piracy" on Russia will affect everyone

"No one is safe from expropriation, from state piracy, basically; therefore not only Russia, but many other [states] reduce its dependence on the US dollar, Western technologies and markets," the Minister continued. "I am certain that gradual de-monopolization of the global economy is not a distant future."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday that the West has announced a "total hybrid war" against Russia and it was hard to predict how long it would last.

"The collective West has declared total hybrid war on us and it is hard to predict how long all this will last but it is clear the consequences will be felt by everyone, without exception," he said in a speech.

"We did everything to avoid a direct clash, but now that the challenge has been thrown down, we of course accept it. We are no strangers to sanctions: they were almost always there in one form or another."

He cited the sanctions, which have included the seizure of nearly half of Russia's US$640 billion (S$890 billion) in foreign reserves, as evidence that no one is safe against expropriation and "state piracy"

Efforts by the West to isolate Russia are doomed to fail, Lavrov said, while pointing to the importance of Russia's relations with China, India, Algeria and Gulf countries.
