Highland Park shooting suspect held without bond, charged with 7 counts of 1st-degree murder

The man accused of opening fire during a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Ill. will be held without bond, Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart said on Wednesday.

The suspect, 21-year-old Robert E. Crimo III, is charged with seven counts of first-degree murder.

Additionally, Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli, who is the spokesman for the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, stated that after Crimo fled the scene in Highland Park, Ill., he drove to Madison, Wis., where he contemplated committing another crime there at a local celebration.
