Oposhnyansky verguns and vergunits for jelly are traditional wedding desserts, now forgotten.

Strips or "turntables" of unleavened dough fried in preheated oil with the addition of a spoonful of lard, prepared from homemade curdled milk, flour, eggs, soda, a pinch of salt and sugar, are an excellent dessert for calendar and family holidays, in particular weddings.

The verguns were served with rich berry or white – milk jelly – it's time for the guests to get ready to go home.
