Dr. Paul Wong discusses the five types of shame, the Eastern concept of face, and the role of shame in daily life and social hierarchies. He illuminates these topics through personal stories and anecdotes. He concludes that there are adaptive benefits of shame: Once one names their shame, they are able to tame it!

Lesson 6, Part 2 of the M4L Meetup series, 2019.

Quote of the video: "The key for mental health is what? Not avoiding
negative emotion, but learn to manage the tension between positive and
negative. Mental health is the ability to hold two thoughts together. To hold
two of whole things together do you know why? That we are able to hold two
things together to give you more flexibility and adaptive. Consider it as
positive and negative as not to opposite poles but two dimensions."
