In October 2021 I was an my wits end. I had so many balls in the air. My life experience had culminated in me going back to full time work interior/exterior decorating, making videos, editing videos, employing more people as part of my team at Oho Ake Books so that I could sound engineer my podcasts that I had recorded earlier in the year, I was publishing another three books and writing another collection of poetry. All of this for the love of it.

Being honest with myself, I felt like I was doing all this for me. No one was purchasing my work,. I was questioning the value I was bringing into the world, and all the free content I was offering wasn't being watched, listened to or read. What was the point? It was time to let go, even if it was for a couple of weeks.

I had a break, a reset over the Xmas period, travelling to the South Island for two weeks. There I dropped into the space of surrendering to 'what is', not thinking about where I was going, what I was doing and what for. In this transformative space I found a new vigour for my work as I came to the realisation that all that I had created had healed me, allowed me to express from my deepest essence and be authentic in ways that I had never dreamed possible before. A gift.
