More than three and half years ago, I made a decision that would change the course of my entire future. I decided to give my WHOLE LIFE TO JESUS.

At the time, I was a freshmen in high school and was consumed with all things me. I wanted to get all the girls and earn an Alabama scholarship and go to all the parties and get all the grades and “build” my reputation. Jesus was worth a day in the week and a confession but not much more. I was the definition of lukewarm. On the night of December 12th, 2015, all of that changed. I recognized that the love of Jesus was too strong to resist and that he was worthy of my whole life. I decided to put all my eggs in his basket. I saw that if I really loved him, I could not love the lusts of the world at the same time. I decided to put him at the center of everything else, and do what he told me to do. No longer did I want to hang out with all my old pals and act like the world. I had a simple goal: to enlarge the kingdom of God(Who is Love). At first, I’m not gonna lie, it was tough. I lost nearly all my friends. I was ridiculed in the locker rooms and on the bus for standing up for my savior. But as time went by, things started to get better and better. I started a bible study in the library of my high school and we steadily grew from only 3 kids to over 75. Over the course of the 3 years we saw more than 130 students make a decision for Christ, and countless others were healed and touched by the power of God. BUT THAT IS NOT ALL. Not only did I see eternal, amazing things happen, but God touched every other part of my life! You see, when Jesus said in Mathew 6:33 to “Seek the kingdom of God first and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” , HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID. He gave me skills for football that I didn’t have before, and a social ability to connect with every person. He prospered me and gave me awesome jobs and scholarships and great friends. And he helped me out SO MUCH with school. He gave me the motivation to work hard every day. He would guide me in my studying and test taking and give me wisdom that I never could have imagined. While many people (especially younger aged) think that giving their life to Jesus will mean that they will miss out on all the “fun” in life, the truth is that IT IS THE BEST DECISION YOU COULD EVER MAKE. HE IS SUCH A WORTHY KING. HE IS WORTHY OF YOUR EVERYTHING. And so because I put him first, he did something AMAZING AND WONDERFUL, and made me valedictorian of my class of 414 students! I was privileged with sharing about him to a packed convocation center! To all those students and young people out there, I am not saying that God will make you valedictorian if you seek him first, BUT I WILL SAY FOR SURE THAT he will bless the rest of your life in ways you could have never imagined! Choose this day to receive him not only as savior and friend and homie, but as LORD. Allow him to be in every aspect of your life, whether it is your friends or social media or school or work or family. Make his kingdom and loving everyone around you a priority!
