The Cover Report (13 March 2022) with Susan Lindauer and Scott Bennett

Extensive discussion (in some detail) of Russia's intervention in Ukraine, where President Putin has outlined exactly why this "special military operation" was necessary in his "Empire of Lies" speech of 24 February 2022, which can be found on my blog at jamesfetzer.org. Susan believes that Putin has committed a catastrophic miscalculation and tht this will be a long, drawn out military conflict, while Scott and I think he has taken measures that had to be taken lest the West further encroach upon the sovereign states that became independent with the dissolution of the Soviet Union, when the highest authorities in the US assured Gorbachev that the West would not expand "a single inch" to the East, which has been grossly abrogated. At the time, there were 16 NATO nations; today, there are 30--all in violation of those solemn agreements. Scott and I believe that Putin has to act in defense of the national security of Russia (including to take out the bio-weapon labs created by the US) and child and sex trafficking, which has long been taking place there. We believe he is doing the right thing at the right time for the right reasons. Susan is not so sure.
