Six people killed in US shooting at Highland Park parade

A manhunt is underway in the US after at least six people were killed and another 24 admitted to hospital in a Fourth of July Independence Day Parade mass shooting.
The Highland Park parade was halted ten minutes after it began when gunshots rang out through the crowd.
Police have confirmed the lone shooter was positioned on a nearby rooftop overseeing the parade and a rifle was found on the scene.
Authorities say the shooter is still at large and are asking residents to avoid the area.
