The Raw Deal (4 June 2021) with Bob Patterson

Despite a power outage at the home of my producer, Bob Patterson, who served in the Marine Corps (as did I), shared his views on how Americans can regain control of the nation at the local, county, state and (at long last) national level. I shared my suggestions: (1) to dump electronic voting machines (which have been used to steal one election after another); (2) to adopt the Iowa model of panels of retired judges to set districts (and avoid gerrymandering, which enables incumbents to be reelected again and again and again); (3) to take private money out of federal elections (and have them exclusively tax-payer funded); and (most controversially) (4) to restore the draft and reconnect American families with decisions of war and peace (which they ignore now because they know that their sons and daughters are not involved). The benefits for the nation would be immense.
