The Quest For Summer River Walleye is a reasonable challenge for any fisherman but night fishing from shore for Grand River Walleye in the Lansing area is a challenge far greater than one might believe if they were used to fishing the Detroit River or The Saginaw River or The Flint River or one of the many other great walleye fishing rivers of Michigan. Certain areas of The Grand River hold a decent amount of walleyes but this area where I live they are a bit of a rare treat. I spent 2 weeks night fishing hard every night and although I only landed 2 walleye I caught some other cool fish along the way. This is the highlights from my quest for summer walleyes in the river. Ive since moved on to pike, dogfish and perch fishing and will keep at that till we get some more rain to get the walleyes a bit more active.

Night fishing from shore is a productive way to fish in the heat of summer and odds of catching a walleye increase greatly when fishing at night. Many other fish species actively feed at night and you might find species you didn't even know were around while night fishing. Walleye fishing from shore is sure to catch you a bonus bass or catfish as well as the occasional pike, gar, sucker, panfish ect. When the walleye aren't biting i like to toss out a worm on a bottom rig because just about any fish will eat a worm at night when they rely more on scent to locate food. Come fall ill have better walleye fishing videos for sure ;)

Can you catch fish at night? yes you can no doubt about it. For more summer night fishing for river walleye make sure to subscribe!

Reel Michigan Anglers is a personal passion and my gift to fellow fisherman. In the future I hope to do more informational fishing videos and cover different types of fishing all across the great state of Michigan. My goal, time permitting is to fish as many different bodies of water for as many different fish species as I can get my hands on. I am a Lansing Michigan resident working towards transferring to MSU for Fisheries and wildlife. My goal is to expand operations and bring more educational and entertaining fishing videos to my subscribers. In the meantime you can count on me for the occasional video outlining the the techniques and areas I fish for Bass, Pike, Walleye, Steelhead, Salmon, Trout, Carp, Suckers, Catfish and Panfish ect. You can see additional videos and other fun fishing related info on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... I Wouldn't be the fisherman I am today without other fisherman who taught me the things I know and I am a firm believer that the sport and conservation of fishing in Michigan is better when we share it with one another. Wether your trying to lean a new spot to fish, a new crank bait to try, advise on what fishing rod to use, what fishing line to use, what color spinner a coho likes, what color jig a steelhead prefers, how to rig live bait, match the hatch, understand fish migration, the effects of barometric pressure or any other aspect of fishing the best way to learn is from other fisherman. That combined with trial and error and pure time spent on the water is the key to improving your fishing game. The better you get the more fun it is and the more we share the fun with others the more future generations will benefit from it. My goal is to kickstart that process by giving you loads of tips for fisherman, easy fishing tips for beginners, Best lure recommendations, How to fishing videos, how to rig videos, and other cool fishing videos. I will take you on a visual tour of fishing destinations you may wish to try, show you how I rig my rods, show you what lures I use to catch fish, What fish I target during the various seasons and how I target them. Budget friendly fishing gear reviews are another thing I plan to continue to deliver.
