GDP Now is a mathematical model for GDP growth used by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for tracking economic growth in real time. Historically, this indicator has been particularly accurate in the days leading up to a GDP release. With the 2nd Quarter GDP to be released on July 28th, the GDP Now model is currently forecasting -2.1% economic growth. When paired with the -1.6% number from the first quarter, this means we are currently in a recession!
