Every May, down in Nacogdoches, TX, the Sandy Land Bluegrass Festival takes place. This is where this adventure started for me. When I first met Wilmer and Carolyn they invited me down here. We only went for the day that visit but when Holly and I started going to bluegrass festivals, this was the first stop.
We are close enough to my Mom where she would drive out and hand out with us for a day.
This festival is great for jammers. And there is only one day of shows, on Saturday. The RV park is great, Sara, Bull, and Gary take such great care of everything. If you don't have an RV, they have limited cabins available. When you go they hold a great pot-luck on one night and a pancake breakfast one morning.
