Cheney and Hageman exchange insults over 2020 election and the Capitol Hill riot

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Trump-endorsed candidate Harriet Hageman traded barbs over the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol during a debate on Thursday evening.

On the debate stage featuring Cheney and her four primary opponents in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the political scion, who has come under fire from her GOP colleagues for her criticisms of former President Donald Trump and participation in the Jan. 6 committee, defended her participation in the panel investigating the riot at the Capitol, calling on Hageman to state whether she believes the election was stolen. Cheney noted that Hageman’s political adviser Bill Stepien, who previously worked on the Trump campaign, testified before the Jan 6 panel that he doesn’t believe there was widespread fraud.
