Microsoft Access Calculations

While calculations in Excel usually occur in the same cell with the result, Microsoft Access calculations are stored separately from the data. To maintain normal form restrictions, the calculations with the result reside outside of the table, usually in queries that process them at the time when the query is used for a form, datasheet, or report.
