Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics (Switch) - Game #43: Fishing

Game #43 on our list of 51 Worldwide Classics is probably the most chill game in the collection and the last of the three games that require the use of gimmicky controls, Fishing! In this game, you have three minutes to catch as many fish as possible. Each fish is weighed as you catch it and is added to your overall total. You don't win in this game, you just try to go for as high of a weight total for your fish as possible. You can also set it to endless mode where you can fish for as long as you want.

There are no CPU opponents to beat, all you have to do is score at least 2000g worth of fish in 3 minutes to master the game. Also, the game keeps track of your 3-minute high score, and each time you play it, you can unlock a piece of trivia about the game. There are four pieces of trivia about Fishing:

1. The practice of fishing is said to go back 40,000 years. (Wow, and I thought Mancala was an old game...)
2. The first fishhooks were crafted from animal bones.
3. In Germany, you must pass a national exam before you're allowed to go fishing.
4. In Japan, they call it an "omatsuri", or festival, when two or more people's lines get tangled up.
