Here is another off-the-cuff, informal quickie of a video share, from Social Security Disability Attorney Stephanie Joy, a case study involving what not to do if you are going back to work part time to make ends meet - so you don't blow your case.

Imagine the scenario - you have a pending SSD or SSI claim. You filed for disability because your medical impairments worsened to the point where working was torture. You are nearing eviction because you have been incomeless for months. You are desperate, you try to work part time. You decide to take the offer of full time again, perhaps with concessions. Can you do that and still keep your claim going just in case the job / work doesn't work out? Yes, often you can try, without hurting your case. But, you NEED to keep things very in check and you MUST keep your lawyer informed so you remain informed on how not to blow it. It can truly destroy your claim and it is not unusual to find yourself in the same boat a year or two later, but this time even more medically limited. Do it with intention and care, so you play by the rules. Take a listen on this case study situation where someone nearly buried their case because they avoided telling the lawyer - to their detriment.
