A BOBWHITE QUAIL RESCUE STORY & Wildlife conservation homestead vlog

Hello! And welcome back, and welcome to any and all of our new viewers and new subscribers to our YouTube channel family! Today we'll bring you yet another cool (well.... kinda) wildlife adventure video from our Very rural Southern Illinois farm homestead. In today's episode while I was at my computer desk, working on YouTube videos, a bird crashed in to my bathroom window pretty hard. This does happen from time to time, but this 'thud' just seemed much bigger than the rest, and it even startled me quite a bit. So after going out to check it out I realized that it was a male Bobwhite Quail! Now, what's the big deal you might ask? Well, down in this area, and actually in many areas of the U.S., the Quail are losing habitat at an exponential pace. Between land being used more and more for farmland, and the rest for building the quail species are losing prairie and brush ground cover habitat. Any way, join us for the wildlife mini adventure to see how this one turns out. The female Quail was missing her lifelong mate and during this episode we'll film her, but she was frantically calling for her mate. Quail are one of our target species for many wildlife habitat conservation and wildlife habitat improvement projects that we do on our 150 acre Illinois farm. So far we have been successful in keeping the quail populated on our farm for the last few years, and this year we have seen and heard more quail than ever, so we are hoping that our conservation efforts are working!
