If The Gov Makes This Change To Your Mortgage You Will Need To Buy Real Estate Like Crazy. Most people are blind to the fact that home prices are directly correlated to the monthly home payment. If the Government decides to make the 40yr Mortgage product have the same terms as the current 30 year mortgages the real estate market will go crazy. No matter how high home prices are right now they will go up much more because people only care about the monthly payments. So if a 40 yr payment is less people will dive into larger homes which will drive the prices up.
