This is a full video replay of the August 31, 2021, Special Meeting of the Hernando County School Board in which the Board met to decide if it was going to violate Florida Law and the Orders of Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Dept. of Education by instituting COVID-19 Mask Mandates at the demands of Joe Biden.

Largely because of the illegal posturing of the Hernando County School Board, a number of local parents and tax payers founded the Hernando Chapter of Moms For Liberty just a few short weeks after this meeting was held.

This meeting was an unscheduled "Special" meeting of the Hernando County School Board that was allegedly arranged at the request of Susan Duval to force the Board to address the demands of Joe Biden who just a few days earlier made a demand that all schools in the United States reinstitute mask mandates . Such a mask mandate would violate Florida Law, the guidance of the Florida Dept. of Health and Florida Dept. of Education, as well as the Executive Order of Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Given that this meeting was an unscheduled "Special" meeting, it was held at great cost to the tax payers of Hernando County thanks to Susan Duval. Ironically, upon driving into the parking lot to attend her Special Mask Mandate meeting, Susan Duval tucked tail by turning around to go home because over 250 local Hernando County residents turned out in force to resist the proposed mandates. Susan attended the meeting remotely from her home rather than stand up and defend her position on this matter.

In an attempt to prevent citizens from speaking out against the proposed Mask Mandates, the Board arbitrarily limited the capacity of the meeting room to only 80 people, thus leaving over a hundred people outside in the intense Florida sun and over 98 degree temps. A number of people in the second group passed out from the heat, or simply left because they fell ill from the heat.

Despite this impediment, 160 residents were allowed to speak out against the Mask Mandates and in turn their actions forced the Board to impose a voluntary Mandate for students, while sadly imposing a mandatory Mandate for everyone else that enters school property.

As a candidate for the Hernando County School Board, and a higher education professional, I have read the studies, medical journals, and have consulted with medical professionals including my own doctors. Based on the available research and recommendations of medical professionals that I have spoken with, cloth and fabric masks do not stop COVID transmission, and as such they are nothing but costume accessories meant to instill false confidence. Furthermore, there has not been enough research done to determine the mental long term effects of forcing children to wear masks. Likewise, there hasn't been enough research done to determine the long term health effects either. This is why I oppose mandating them, and this is why I will refuse to wear one.

Once elected to the School Board I will ensure that the topic of mask mandates are NEVER addressed again. Furthermore, given that the School Board just met to decide if it was going to violate State Law, this now sets a precedent where if a leftist majority on the Board is willing to violate State Law to impose a harmful mask mandates upon our children at the request of an inept fool in the White House, then why can't a conservative majority on the Board do the same to prohibit harmful State or Federal mandates? Once I'm elected I look forward to testing this new precedent to benefit our children, our local community, and the tax payers of Hernando County so that WE THE PEOPLE can keep the bureaucrats and teachers' unions in check.
