Genesis Chapters 32 & 33

These chapters bring us to the point where Jacob is going to meet up with his brother, Esau. Jacob is deathly afraid of this meeting because Esau is a tough guy and Jacob has dealt somewhat unfairly with Esau in the past. Jacob has dealt with Esau in a similar way that Laban dealt with him. But before he meets with Esau, Jacob wrestles with an angel of Elohim. Is this just another messenger from the Father? Or is this a manifestation of the Father Himself? Through this struggle, Jacob gets two things: a name change and a limp.

Then Jacob meets with Esau. The text states that Esau "fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept." It sounds very loving and emotional. But was it?? "Esau's Kiss" is a term still used today. What does it mean?
