Missiles hit Odesa after NATO ends summit with a tougher line on Russia | DW News

A Russian missile struck a multi-story apartment building in Odesa region early on Friday, killing at least 14 people and wounding 30, the emergency services said.

Seven people were rescued from the rubble of the building, including three children, they said. Another Russian missile hit a nearby recreation center, where three people were killed and one person injured, emergency services said.

This comes on the heels of the NATO summit in Madrid, which wrapped up with a tougher line on Russia and a promise to increase its troop presence in Europe.

Also the Czech Republic, which takes over the European Union's rotating presidency today, is promising to be tough on Russia. It has vowed to focus on the war in Ukraine and its repercussions, including refugees, energy insecurity.
