I originally wrote this song for guitar about 14 years ago, but it's been impervious to recording. These days I play it on banjo and I feel like I've captured the best version of it that I have ever attempted. My current band has helped create a version of this song that I am very proud of.

This version is one that videographer Boris Khamishon dreamed up. Boris wanted to make a true "music video". I prefer just seeing musicians playing their song on videos, but some people prefer a dramatic video to go with the song, so here it is. I think Boris did a great job, though I think I still prefer the other video with just my band and I playing the song in the desert. What do you think? Comment below.

Note: Boris insisted I wear the top hat any comments comparing me to Kid Rock will be deleted on grounds of racist hate speech. Ha! Just kidding! Kid Rock seems to be one of the few main stream artists in the world singing/speaking out on global tyranny and I'm cool being compared to him these days, so fire away haters ;)

Here are the lyrics:

a cactus flower is blooming on the side of the road
where we drive through this deserted desert

the sky is so blue I can see far away
into forever I can see the infinity

the heat doesn’t bother me any excuse to move slowly
through this world on my long journey

a cactus flower is blooming on the side of the road
where we drive through this deserted desert

I would say that this song is essentially an attempt to relay the feeling of the desert in the spring time, but I think it is probably bigger than that, but it's vague enough to leave it open to interpretation, which leads to the mystic quality.
