Devil Dance | Sri lankan Traditional Devil Dance

The "Devil Dances" are an attempt to refute the widespread notion that some illnesses are brought on by occult forces and that these forces must be driven away in order for the patient to be healed. The villagers assume that if a person or a family is struggling, it is because they are being tormented by ominous forces. The solution is a "thovil" ceremony.
