Unboxing the Yagua by J.C. Newman Cigar Co. and examining this unique Nicaraguan creation.

Yagua was inspired by a technique used by Cuban tobacco farmers throughout the early 1900s, where tobaccos were taken straight from curing barns and hand-rolled without the use of cigar molds. Instead, the farmers tightly bound multiple cigars in pieces of yagua palm trees (aka royal palm). When unraveled, each cigar had been pressed into completely unique shapes, with some having five, six, seven sides.

J.C. Newman employs this technique with Yagua, binding the cigars while still wet for a unique experience. 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars have been crafted for the initial release, shipping in the first week of August 2020 and retailing for $7.50/cigar.
