Notes
The 1994 studio album Turn Of The Tides was a kind of stylistic further development of previous records: Not only the original cover and CD body artwork -- abstracted gear wheels, completed with fractals -- reminds of Rockoon, but also the music. Besides electronic equipment, TD were using guitar, sax and backing vocals again. The opening piece, Maurice Ravel's orchestral version of Modest P. Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition (1874), features keyboards, trumpet, soprano sax and horns. In March 1994 there was an official presentation of Turn Of The Tides in Italy.

The 12-page booklet not only shows photographs of the band, but also contains a 4-page short story reporting about the experiences of a certain John Calyx who leaves his hometown in 1881 to find his brother. After having arrived at the city of Arca he finds that all the landscape and buildings disappear when he passes the gate and a banner stating "Welcome to the Turn of The Tides". The story has references to most of the titles of the album tracks, and it is mentioned to be an excerpt from "The Coachman's Tales" by Edgar Froese. However, there is no book titled like this to be found in a bookstore.

Re-Releases

The UK releases of 1995 and 1996 (as well as all later re-issues of the album) feature the bonus track Story Of The Brave that was previously available on Turn Of The Tides CD-5 only.

In 1999 the CD was re-released by TDI with a completely different cover artwork, this time designed by Edgar Froese.

In March 2009 the album was re-released with different cover design as part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label.
