Plants of the Poison Path: Myths and Medicine of Solanacea (Datura, Nightshade, Brumansia, y más)

Henbane, mandrake, deadly nightshade...even potatoes and chilli peppers, are steeped in bizarre folklore, all around the world. The truth about the effects of these beautiful, seductive, and exetremely dangerous, plants is even more bizarre, proving the old adage that truth is often stranger than fiction. From the incomprehensibly weird, nightmarish visions of brugmansia (toe) in South America, to the flying ointments of European witches (henbane, mandrake, deadly nightshade, datura), and the real life datura/blowfish zombies of Haiti, nearly every continent has some otherworldy, or perhaps underworldy, lore and tradtions based upon some member of the solanacea family.
This Lightstream will cover the myths and folklore as well as the medical applications of these plants, both tradtional and modern.
