29 YEAR OLD "female" Ricci Tres won a competition meant for children, beating out 13-year-old Shihloh Catori. If I left that sentence and walked away, you would say it was unfair and gross. But Ricci Tres is actually a trans woman who was born a man who beat out a 13-year-old in a skateboarding competition. Instead of being unfair and gross, that makes it beautiful and brave.
