The division of the Maryland Attorney General's Office that is investigating the deadly police shooting in Baltimore County over the weekend has released the name of the person killed by police and the officers involved in the shooting.

Investigators say that 66-year-old Robert Henry Thompson was the person who was killed.

The officers involved in the shooting have been identified as Officer S. Johnson, a 16-year veteran; Officer C. Klapha, a 4-year veteran; and Officer R. Fitzgerald, a 3.5-year veteran. All of them are assigned to the Operations Bureau of the Baltimore County Police department.

Investigators say that all three officers fired their weapons. They say it is too early to say for certain if all three officers hit Thompson.

The shooting happened Saturday night Towson. Police arrived at Virginia Towers in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue for a report of "unknown trouble." When officers arrived at the apartment, police say Thompson answered the door with a handgun and pointed it at officers.

There was an exchange of gunfire and Thompson was killed. One officer was hit. That officer was treated and released from the hospital.

The Maryland Attorney General's Office said they would not be identifying that officer because he did not fire his weapon.

When police entered the apartment complex they found a woman with life-threatening injuries.
