Sacred Heart of Jesus- Corpus Christi Procession for Marriage

Saint Anthony Family Association hosted a Corpus Christi Procession June 25, 2022. We demonstrated our fellowship in the ideals of what this city was founded on named for the city of Saint Anthony. We ask that the city and corporate leadership in San Antonio who do not respect this heritage demonstrated by their very actions lead with discrimination against Christian and Catholics in the City of Saint Anthony. Since 2011, the City of San Antonio has used taxpayer money to undermine marriage and to promote perverse sexual practices. This started with taxpayer funds being used to pay for performances of the play “Corpus Christi” (defaming the body of our Lord, the Corpus Christi) which depicts Jesus our Lord and Savior as a homosexual and mocks Christianity throughout. The City Council passed the non-discrimination ordinance, which is essentially San Antonio City's name for its sexual orientation and gender identity language revisions granting special rights to the LGBTQAI+ in 2013, which amounted to a “bake the cake” ordinance forcing all city contractors regardless of religious convictions to bow the knee the “Rainbow Mafia.”

For Catholics, June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Yet, in the ever-increasing secular culture and anti-Christian culture of our city and nation, June is celebrated as “Pride Month.” Ironically, such proclamations only support the very words of Scripture where the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 3:19, “Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.”

Romans 1 makes it very clear that “shame” is used to describe what is being celebrated and the very sodomous acts in which “pride” is being taken.

Paul notes:
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error (Romans 1:26, 27).

Those who join in such celebrations of homosexuality are also mentioned in Scripture, “Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them (Romans 1:32).

Our Christian hope and prayer is that those who celebrate such sin and those who practice it would not bear their own penalty but turn and trust Christ and find life. We hope to promote the bedrock of society as marriage between a man and a woman preferably for life and also the natural byproduct of that love which is the life of a child and children without limits where love abounds and life abounds.

SAFA requested the community's participation to remind people of God, the one Who made them and Who can help all people find peace and joy. We pray this sacred heart procession will affirm people to know and follow the way, the truth and the life.
