Where are you on Safety?
As we wrap up Safety Month this June, I’ve found when speaking with Building Owners about rooftop safety they fall into three general categories, they are:
Worried someone will get hurt on their roof,
Concerned if they try to mitigate all hazards that they’ll blow up their budget, and
Frustrated that they haven’t found an effective roof safety solution.

Is there a practical solution?

I’d like to suggest a possible practical 5-Step solution which looks like this:
1) Control access to the roof.
2) Eliminate access hazards.
3) Walkway routes to service points, combined with training.
4) Fall protection for equipment at the leading edge.
5) Leading edge protection in low hazard areas.
