Avoiding Synthetic Fertilizers with Cover Crops

Short term benefits, possible toxicity effects and long term soil imbalances are just a few of the reasons I avoid synthetic fertilizers. There is more to nourishing the soil, and ultimately our health, than adding NPK, you know, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, to stimulate plant growth.
