In the name of God, the Kind, the Caring.

1. I swear by this land.

2. You are free in this land.

3. And by a father and what he begot.

4. Every person We created faces hardships.

5. Does he think no one has power over him?

6. He says, “I spent so much money.”

7. Does he think no one sees him?

8. Didn’t We give him two eyes?

9. And a tongue and two lips?

10. And We showed him both ways?

11. But he didn’t brave the ascent.

12. What can explain the ascent to you?

13. To free a captive.

14. To feed on a day of hunger.

15. An orphaned relative.

16. Or a needy in the dust.

17. They are believers who teach each other to be patient and kind.

18. These are the people of happiness.

19. But those who deny Our signs are the people of misery.

20. The fire closes on them.
