Amy Leigh McCorkle was born and raised in Louisville, KY, and was always a voracious reader. At the age of 5 when she was introduced to creative writing, she knew she wanted to be a professional author. By 21 years of age, she worked in a bookstore where she met her future screenwriting partner, Melissa Goodman, and embarked on the road to her screenwriting success. Amy has gone on to venture into directing and producing documentaries, music videos, and short films. Their most notable work, “Letters to Daniel”, details their journey from breakdown to bestseller while facing her greatest challenge, the surprising diagnosis of having bipolar disorder. Her struggle was fierce, drawn-out, and resulted in more than one occasion of deep heartbreak. With a lot of hard work, love, and patience, Melissa helped her get through the roughest patches o her life. Collectively Amy had had 23 novels published, 11 of them on the Amazon Bestseller list, and her memoir upon which the script was adapted, is an Amazon International Bestseller which hit as highs a # 2 in the USA. Her film festival awards haul has also been impressive with 72 wins since she started entering contests in 2014. Amy’s current script, “Letters to Daniel”, was recently presented at the Branson Film Festival, and she has a reality show in development where there is an interest from the faith-based networks in her series, “The Guardian’.
